Trash & Recycling

Trash pick up at Hawkseye is every Monday morning; recycling pick up is every other Monday morning.

Please leave containers at curbside early Monday morning, and retrieve them as soon as possible Monday after pick-up to avoid blowing trash and unsightly containers lining our beautiful neighborhood.

Holiday Collection Schedule
If your collection day falls on one of the holidays listed below, collection will take place the following day. Collection for the remaining days of the week will be delayed one day.
- New Years Day
- Memorial Day
- Independence Day
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving
- Christmas

Please place trash bins to the curb AFTER 6pm evening prior and return to garage or trash enclosure BEFORE 6pm on pick up day.

If you missed trash or recycling pick up, you can drop it off (at a fee) at Delaware Solid Waste Rt. 5 Transfer Station located at 22572 DE-5, Harbeson, DE 19951 17 miles from Hawkseye

Yard Waste Removal

Yard waste cannot be disposed of in any Delaware landfill. Yard Waste must be separated from trash and taken to an approved yard waste collection or composting facility, removed by your landscape vendor or picked up by a local vendor for proper disposal.

If you wish to bag and dispose of your yard waste independently, you can take your bags to one of the following collection sites:

• Delaware Transfer Stations are located on Route 5 in Harbeson at 29997 John P. Healy Drive, in Long Neck at 28963 Mount Joy Road, or in Milford at 1170 S. Dupont Highway, among several other locations farther away from Lewes. DNREC's definition of yard waste includes leaves, grass clippings, prunings, garden materials, brush, shrubs, Christmas trees, and tree limbs up to 4" in diameter.

• Grizzly’s Landscape Supply on Route 9, three miles west of Route 1 in Lewes at 18412 The Narrow Road

• Stockley Materials in Georgetown at 25136 DuPont Blvd.

• Blessings Greenhouse in Milford at 9372 Draper Road
